BSU Tennis Courts

As I walked across campus with my new tennis racket, I found myself to be very excited.  I haven't played tennis in about six months and I finally found some free time to go and play.  I was with my friend Gail and she was just as excited.  When we finally reached the courts, we walked in and did a few warm up serves to each other.  After about two minutes, a court official (or so we thought he was) came up to us and asked us to show him the bottom of our shoes.  We looked at him confused for a second and did what he asked.  Right away, he told us that we needed to leave because we could only play if the bottoms of our shoes were white.  Apparently, there were rules such as this one that keep us from playing.  As we left I looked at the courts and saw that they were already scuffed up a lot.  I wondered why it was such a big deal.  I still haven't played because I'm a poor college student who can't afford a new pair of shoes right now.
